Audemars Piguet Calatrava — 1940s

A particularly rare example of an Audemars Piguet Calatrava from the 1940s, distinguished by an unusual and highly distinctive dial configuration.

The 32 mm stainless steel case houses a beautifully aged cream-colored dial, featuring exceptionally long applied hour markers — a configuration we have never encountered before on another example from the period. Audemars Piguet produced very few watches in this configuration, with stainless steel examples being particularly uncommon.

What makes this watch even more compelling is its remarkable completeness. It retains both its original rate certificate (bulletin de marche) and its original presentation box, two exceptionally rare elements to find together on a watch of this age.

An understated yet highly characterful Calatrava, noteworthy for the originality of its configuration and, above all, for the exceptional combination of rarity, provenance and surviving original accessories.
